Why
I was born and raised in Gainesville Florida by my father from Cuba, my mother and grandmother from Dominican Republic. All, have worked hard to give me my past and present life full of physical activity, education and tradition. I have been fortunate to live a healthy life lead by a team of educators, coaches, specialists and doctors. It took humbling sports injuries and chronic pain for me to realize how big of an impact movement has on your mental state and ability to achieve any life tasks and goals. I want to be able to help those in need use exercise as medicine so that each one of them can make achieving their purpose in life a little more bearable just like my parents did for me.
Background
I currently have a 4 year bachelors of science in kinesiology, am an exercise specialist and am NSCA’s Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. I am also a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. I personal train the general population (any fitness level or age) as well as athletes. I do personal, group and strength training as well as injury prevention. I find training a client to be able to bend down to tie their shoes, to giving an athlete the edge to win a game, a race or maxing out equally important. I put great emphasis on diet, cardio, healthy habits and stress relief in and out of sessions. With a degree in the past, a business in the present, and the urge to pick up more certifications in the future, I want to learn as much as I can so that I can help as much as I want. I want to get as many certifications as I can to make myself as well rounded as possible, because optimal health is achieved by reaching all domains of wellness.
